Our Programs - Mentoring

Is Your Load Too Heavy To Carry Alone?

A Tough Road - The road of life is far from smooth and straight: there are places where the climb up the mountain seems to have no end in sight, such as the struggle to raise challenging children. Even in the flat sections, when everything seems just fine, a giant pothole, like an unexpected bill, may jolt you. Or, perhaps, you run into a detour sign that forces you off the course you had intended to take, such as an injury that prevents you from working or a sick child or an unexpected pregnancy. Are you in a place like this? During times like these, many feelings can set in. How do you feel? Alone? Frustrated? Cornered? Defeated? Worthless?

Sharing The Load - Faith Partners does not want to see you stuck. We know you want to get up that hill, out of the pothole, or back on the path. But that’s not all we want to do. We want to equip you for the future! We want to make sure you have what it takes to get up the next hill, no matter how high; we want to enable you to see the potholes before you hit them; and we want to give you the skills to find your way through detours in the many years to come. Hardships will come. But they don’t need to leave you and your family crippled. Faith Partners understands your frustration and sees your feelings of defeat. And we know many people who have the skills to help you conquer poverty once-and-for-all. These same people want to be your biggest fans. They don’t want you to feel alone anymore! We call these people mentors, and we have a team of them waiting to meet you. There’s a lot of work to be done, but trust us—we want the challenge. Together we can beat the road!

How Mentoring Works - Our mentoring program begins with a 4-week class that prepares you on how to ensure a healthy and successful relationship within your team. Your team will consist of your family - every family member participates - and 4-5 other individuals who can (and want to!) support you and your family in several different life-skill areas:

Personal development
Strengthening key relationships
Financial wisdom
Vocational skills
Educational advancement
