Our Programs - Getting the Help You Need

Filling a Need

Often times poverty sets in because people were simply not taught basic skills that would enable them to become - and stay - self-sufficient. They were not taught how to see beyond their poverty. Others are experiencing temporary circumstances which have contributed to their financial and emotional setbacks.

Whatever the individual situation may be, we at Faith Partners, identify those problems and the resulting specific needs. The goal is to match a government-dependent family with a team of 4-6 mentors who have strengths in the family’s areas of greatest need. These strengths are skills and relationships, not merely benevolence.

Who do we serve?

Any TANF client or at-risk family is welcome to apply if they: 1. Have a stable address 2. Have a reliable and direct form of communication 3. Are emotionally ready to set goals 4. Are mentally and physically capable to pursue employment 5. Are complying with IRC goals.

How Our Programs Work Together

Once a client is referred to us, they begin a 4-week class that prepares him/her for a healthy and beneficial relationship with their mentors. Our mentors also receive intensive training so they know how to respond to the needs of those they will mentor. Once the client has completed the 4 weeks and a suitable mentor team is identified, the client and his/her family meet the mentors, and then they choose from several different mentoring categories, such as personal development, strengthening key relationships, financial wisdom, vocational skills, and educational advancement. Faith Partners is always there to support the family and the mentors!

Do you have concerns about faith-based organizations? No worries: Our faith is what compels us to compassion, but it is not something we seek to impose on others.

We just want to help!
